Dr. Lona T. Rogers Miller, a native of Richmond, Virginia, was educated in the Richmond Public Schools System. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
During her last year at VCU, Dr. Rogers responded to God’s ministry call upon her life. After graduating, she continued pursuing her education at Duke University in Durham, N.C., earning a Master of Divinity degree. After graduating from Duke, she returned to Richmond. She began working in her home church (All Saints Apostolic Church) as an associate minister and childcare administrator under the pastorate of her father, the late Suffragan Bishop Robert L. Tapper. She was ordained in 1984 at the International Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. Convention in Washington, D.C. She earned her Doctor of Ministry degree in June 1997 from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. Dr. Miller served as co-pastor of the All Saints Apostolic Church for nearly five years before receiving the full pastoral mantle from her father in December 2001. She has served as CEO of the Letsy Ann Memorial Christian School and All Saints Child Care Center.
Currently, she is the pastor of the All Saints Apostolic Church. She has served as a District Elder [responsible for overseeing nine churches] and Christian Education Supervisor for the Virginia State Council Apostolic, Inc. of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. She has also served as a board member for the Apostolic Initiative (AI) during the mid-2000s. AI was a nonpartisan, missionary-oriented organization that kept the apostolic “voice” before U.S. Presidential administrations and encouraged ministry worldwide. AI allowed Dr. Miller to attend a presidential candidate debate forum, and several meetings at the White House and the Israeli Embassy.
She has authored a book titled “The Word,” a 30-day spiritual growth journal. Dr. Miller is a woman “after the heart of God,” who moves in His prophetic anointing. She inspires, mentors, and energizes the lives of those she touches. Her ministerial forte is ministering deliverance and spiritual maturity to the believer. Along with her love for ministry and the people of God, she loves to read, write, and travel. She is married to Randolph S. Miller and has two children: Thomas M. Rogers, II, and Richell L. Rogers, and two grandsons.
